E Challan HP – How to Pay & Check Status

The procedure to pay the e-challan fine on the official website of the Parivahan is mentioned below:

  1. Visit https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/.
  2. Click on ‘Pay Online’.
  3. Enter the challan number, vehicle number, or driving license number.
  4. Enter the captcha.
  5. Click on ‘Get Detail’.
  6. On the next page, you will find the option to pay the fine.

On Official Website

The procedure to pay the e-challan on the official website is given below:

  1. Visit https://himkosh.hp.nic.in/echallan/.
  2. Log in to your account by entering the username and password. You will have to complete the registration process before you can log in to the account.
  3. Once you complete the login process, you can enter the vehicle number or challan number.
  4. The details of the e-challan or the amount will be displayed.
  5. You can complete the payment process on this page. An SMS will be sent once the payment has been made.

You can also pay your challan in Himachal Pradesh through the police website. The steps are as follows:

Step 2: Provide your challan number.

Traffic Penalties in Himachal Pradesh

The penalties that are levied for any traffic violations in Himachal Pradesh are mentioned below:

  1. Without Insurance: The fine for the first offense is Rs.2,000 (and/or imprisonment for three months). Rs.4,000 (and/or imprisonment for three months) will be levied from the second offense.
  2. Obstruction of an Emergency Vehicle: Rs.10,000 (and/or imprisonment for six months).
  3. Drunk Driving: The fine for the first offense is Rs.10,000 to 15,000 (and/or imprisonment for six months). Rs.15,000 (and/or imprisonment for two years) will be levied from the second offense.
  4. Without Registration: Rs.3,000 to Rs.7,5000
  5. Invalid License: Rs.5,000.
  6. Without Insurance: Rs.2,000 to 4,000. 
  7. Violation of Road Rules: Ranges between Rs.500 and Rs.1,000.
  8. Over Speeding: Ranges between Rs.1,000 and Rs.4,000.
  9. Dangerous Driving: Ranges between Rs.5,000 and 7,5000 (and/or imprisonment up to one year).
  10. Speeding on Public Roads: Rs.5,000 
  11. Talking on Mobile Phone: Rs.5,000.
  12. Without Seat-Belt: Rs.1,000.
  13. Not Wearing Helmet: Rs.1,000.

  3. Enter the captcha.
  4. Click on ‘Get Detail’.
  5. The status of the challan will be displayed on the next page.
