Form 35 – Required Documents and RC Information

In case you have purchased a vehicle under hypothecation, lease or hire-purchase agreement with financer, then the financer's name will be mentioned on the Registration Certificate (RC). You will have to submit RTO Form 35 to cancel out the financer's name from RC after you pay off the debt.

How to Fill Form 35?

Form 35 is divided into two parts:

1. The Introductory Part

2. The Concluding Part

  1. In the introductory part, you need to mention details regarding the financer and registered owner.
  2. In the concluding part, you need to mention the termination of the agreement.
  3. On the top-left corner, fill in the name of the Regional Transport Office where you have your vehicle registered.
  4. Next, write the vehicle number as stated on the Registration Certificate.
  5. After this, you need to sign the application or you can put thumb impression. Do mention the date.
  6. The financer will also have to provide his signature or thumb impression.
  7. The reference number and RTO address will be given by the representative of the registering authority in the conclusion part. The authority will also mention the date on which the agreement termination got recorded.
  8. After this, the RTO authority will sign the application along with the date. He will also mention the name of registering authority and financer.

How to Terminate Vehicle Hypothecation?

Follow the steps mentioned below to terminate vehicle hypothecation:

Step 1: Visit https://vahan.parivahan.gov.in/vahanservice/vahan/

Step 2: Provide your 'Vehicle Registration Number'

Step 3: Select 'Proceed'

Step 4: Click on 'Basic Services' option

Step 5: Enter last five digits of chassis number and vehicle registration number

Step 6: Click on 'Validate registration number and chassis number'

Step 7: Generate OTP on your registered mobile number

Step 8: Enter OTP and submit

Step 9: Choose 'Hypothecation termination' option

Step 10: Enter 'service details' and 'insurance details'

Step 11: Review fee panel and proceed

Step 12: Pay the fees and upload the document

After this the application will be forwarded to the RTO for further processing.

How to Add Vehicle's Hypothecation details?

Follow the steps mentioned below to add the vehicle's hypothecation details:

Step 1: Visit https://vahan.parivahan.gov.in/vahanservice/vahan/

Step 2: Provide your 'Vehicle Registration Number'

Step 3: Select 'Proceed'

Step 4: Click on 'Basic Services' option

Step 7: Generate OTP on your registered mobile number

Step 8: Enter OTP and submit

Step 9: Choose 'Hypothecation addition' option

Step 10: Enter 'service details' and 'insurance details'

Step 11: Review fee panel and proceed

Step 12: Pay the fees and upload the document

After this the application will be forwarded to the RTO for further processing.
