There are multiple ways to register for FASTag conveniently. You can do it online or offline. If you wish to apply for it offline, you can visit any of the Point of Sale (POS) terminals located at Toll Plazas.
For online application, you can register for a FASTag from any of the issuer agencies. You will have to upload documents online, make the purchase and your FASTag will be delivered to your doorstep.

In order to purchase your FASTag, you need to submit certain documents:
If you are visiting a POS terminal to purchase your FASTag in person, you are required to bring your original documents for verification.
The issuing agency will verify your original documents before accepting your FASTag application.
Once your vehicle has been registered, a representative of the issuing agency will fix the FASTag on the vehicle's windshield.
Important Note: The vehicle's owner does not need to be present to purchase the FASTag. A representative can make the purchase by presenting the documents of the owner.
Upon successful purchase of a FASTag, you can complete your FASTag registration. First, your FASTag wallet will be created. If you own multiple vehicles, you can link your FASTags to a single wallet for convenient management and recharge.
Once your account is ready, you can register your FASTag. Different issuers have different registration processes. But you can complete registration online. To complete your registration, you may need your wallet ID, vehicle number, RFID number, email address, or phone number. You can create your log in ID and password here.
You will also receive an SMS on your registered mobile number once your registration is complete.

As per the guidelines given by Indian transport department, the maximum cost of FASTag is Rs. 100. Some banks are also providing this facility for free.

Yes, since you can use only one FASTag for one vehicle, you will need multiple FASTags for different vehicles.
In cases where FASTag is lost or damaged, you should report it immediately to the issuing bank. Make a request at the bank to block the balance amount and blacklist the tag to avoid further transactions. Later on, apply for a new FASTag and get the balance transferred. You can also withdraw the balance amount by making a request at the bank.
