Karnataka Declares Holiday for Government Employees on 20 February 2025 for State-level Convention

The Karnataka government has announced a holiday for state employees on Thursday, 20 February 2025, to enable their participation in a major convention organised by the Karnataka State Government Employees' Association. The event, taking place at Tripura Vasini, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, is expected to draw nearly 10,000 government employees from across the state. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the convention, and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will attend as the guest of honour. Running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the convention will focus on key issues such as salary revisions, promotions, and other employment benefits. This marks the first major gathering of the association since December 2024. With government offices closed for the day, citizens are advised to plan official work accordingly. Normal operations will resume on 21 February 2025.
