The IBPS PO prelims exam pattern is as follows:

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern:

The IBPO Mains exam is conducted for a total duration of three hours and 30 minutes and a total mark of 225. The exam is conducted in either in English or in Hindi apart from the English language and Letter and essay writing sections. IBPS PO Interview Process:

Candidates who have cleared the cut-off for the main exams are qualified for the last round for an interview. The interview process will constitute of 100 marks and the minimum marks for qualifying in the interview round is 40% for the general category and 35% for candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories. 

Negative Marking in IBPS PO Exam  

The following are the rules for negative marking in the IBPS PO exam: 

1. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in both IBPS preliminary and main exam 

1. No marks will be deducted if the question is left blank or unanswered by the candidate

This part of the exam mainly consists of four subjects - Reasoning and computer aptitude, English language, Data analysis and interpretation, and General economy and banking awareness.

• When will the IBPS PO Exam conducted for the year?

  The IBPS PO exam for is set to be conducted in the last quarter of the calendar year. The preliminary exam was conducted in October 2024. The mains exam will be held during the month of November.

• Is there any negative marking for the IBPS PO examination?

  Yes, there is a negative marking for the IBPS PO in both the preliminary and main exams. 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer, hence if you answer four questions wrongly a total of 1 mark is deducted.

• What languages can I opt for when I write the IBPS PO examination?

  The IBPS PO examination is bilingual. You can choose between English and Hindi for your question paper. However, the English Language papers will be available in English only.

  The SBI PO exam pattern and the IBPS PO exam pattern are on the same line as per the latest IBPS notification. However, it is mostly similar in the mains exam pattern.

• What is the cut-off score for IBPS PO exam?

  There is no fixed cut-off score for the IBPS PO exam. The cut-off score changes on the basis of the overall performance of all the candidates who have applied for the exam during the said session. However, to be on the safer side, it is recommended that a candidate should attempt at least 50% to 60% of all the questions in each section to hit the overall cut-off marks as well as the sectional cut-off marks.

  The minimum qualification to apply for IBPS PO 2024 exam is a graduate degree in any subject.

  The scoring topics of English Language section of IBPS PO examination are vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms), fill-in-the-blanks, spotting errors, reading comprehension, and rearrangement. Reading newspapers and referring to good grammar books would be helpful in scoring higher marks in this section.
