However, the issuance of passports under the Tatkaal scheme is subject to approval by the passport office. If the passport has been damaged beyond recognition, you won't be able to apply using the Tatkaal scheme. 

  • Are Government/Public Sector/Statutory body employees required to undergo Police Verification to obtain a passport?

    Government/Public Sector/Statutory body employees may be issued a passport without undergoing Police Verification if they submit their original Identity Certificate along with the application form. They can also be issued a passport on a post-police verification basis if they submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or on a pre-police verification basis if they submit a Prior Intimation (PI) letter along with the application form.
