A passport is a document that allows individuals to travel to other countries across the world under the protection of their home country. This important document contains details of the individual such as their name, address, signature and others and serves as substantial proof of identity and address. The Indian passport can be procured by every Indian citizen regardless of their age.
Availing a passport is simple process. Applicants will have to visit the Passport Seva Kendra Office closest to them and procure the necessary forms and fill them out. These forms can also be downloaded from the official Passport Seva Kendra website.
Once these forms are submitted, applicants will have to visit the Passport Seva Kendra on the designated day along with the necessary documents. Once their interview is successfully completed and all necessary documents verified, applicants will receive their passport by post.
However, there are times when certain details in the passport will have to be changed after the passport has been issued. This article will touch upon the steps that an applicant will have to follow if he/she has to change the gender in their passport.
To change the address on the passport, you are required to submit your old passport with a self-attested photocopy of the first two and last two pages, including the Emigration Check Required (ECR) or Non-ECR page. You will also need to submit a photocopy of any observation page made by the Passport Issuing Authority and any validity extension page for short-validity passports. Additionally, you will need to provide proof of your current address.
