Availing a passport is simple process. Applicants will have to visit the Passport Seva Kendra Office closest to them and procure the necessary forms and fill them out. These forms can also be downloaded from the official Passport Seva Kendra website.

Once these forms are submitted, applicants will have to visit the Passport Seva Kendra on the designated day along with the necessary documents. Once their interview is successfully completed and all necessary documents verified, applicants will receive their passport by post.

However, there are times when certain details in the passport will have to be changed after the passport has been issued. This article will touch upon the steps that an applicant will have to follow if he/she has to change the gender in their passport.

Steps to Change Gender in Indian Passport

  1. Applicants will have to avail Form No.2 from the Passport Seva Kendra Office or the website which is meant for miscellaneous services.
  2. If individuals are applying for the same online then they will opt for 'Reissue of Passport' and get the change done in the personal particulars section.
  3. Necessary documents will have to be provided after which an appointment will be scheduled at the office.
  4. Individuals will also have to provide an authorization letter signed by the applicant based on Annexure.
  5. After all the verification is complete individuals will receive the corrected passport.
