PM Kisan Scheme

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana scheme was launched on 1 December 2018 with the main aim of increasing the income of Small and Marginal Farmers (SMFs). Under the scheme, financial aid is provided to SMFs for the purchase of inputs that are required for crop health.

Initially, Rs.75,000 crore was provided by the scheme to over 9.9 crore farmers. In August 2020, Rs.17,000 crore was transferred by the Prime Minister of India to 8.5 crore farmers. The money was transferred directly into the beneficiary's bank account.

Features of PM Kisan Scheme

The main features of the PM Kisan scheme are mentioned below:

  1. 100% of the funds are provided by the Government of India.
  2. SMFs are provided Rs.6,000 in a year in three equal instalments. However, small and marginal farmer families can own land of up to 2 hectares to be eligible to receive the amount.
  3. The farmers that are eligible to receive support under the scheme will be identified by the State Government and Union Territory administration.
  4. The amount will be transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account.

Exclusions for PM Kisan Scheme

The exclusions of the scheme are mentioned below:

  1. Institutional land holders.
  2. Farmer families who belong to the below-mentioned categories:
  3. Present and former constitutional post holders.
  4. Present and former State Ministers or Ministers.
  5. Present and former Members of State Legislative Councils, State Legislative Assemblies, Rajya Sabha, and Lok Sabha.
  6. Present and former Mayors of Municipal Corporations.
  7. Present and former Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
  8. Individuals who have paid the income tax for the last assessment year.
  9. Architects, chartered accountants, engineers, and doctors.
  10. Retired pensioners with a monthly pension of Rs.10,000 or more.
  11. Retired and serving officers.
  12. State/Central Government/ Department/Office/Ministry employees.

New Farmer Registration

The registration process is simple and can be completed online. Individuals will need to visit https://pmkisan.gov.in/RegistrationFormNew.aspx and provide their Aadhaar number and captcha to view the registration form. The registration process can be completed by filling in the relevant details and submitting the form.

Process to Check Beneficiary List

Individuals who have applied for the scheme can check if they have made the list. The step-by-step procedure to check the beneficiary list is mentioned below:

  1. Visit https://pmkisan.gov.in/.
  2. Click on 'Beneficiary List'. The option can be found under the 'Farmers Corner' section.
  3. On the next page, enter the state, district, sub-district, block, and village.
  4. Click on 'Get Report'.
  5. The complete list will be displayed.

How to Update eKYC Online for PM Kisan Scheme

  1. Go to the official PM-Kisan website.
  2. Click the 'eKYC' button on the right side of the screen.
  3. Enter your Aadhar Card number and captcha code.
  4. Click the 'Search' button.
  5. Enter the mobile phone number registered with the Aadhar card.
  6. Click 'Get OTP' and enter the OTP from the One Time Password section.

PM-Kisan Beneficiary Status

  1. The list of PM-Kisan beneficiaries is published by the government on the official PM-Kisan portal.
  2. After registering on the portal, farmers can check their PM-Kisan status and receive the benefits of the scheme.
  3. To check PM-Kisan status, go to the official PM-Kisan portal.
  4. Scroll down to the 'Farmers Corner' section and click on the 'Beneficiary Status' button.
  5. On the 'Beneficiary Status' page, enter your Aadhaar number, account number, or mobile number along with the Captcha code.
  6. Click on the 'Get Data' button to view the transaction details of the PM-Kisan beneficiary.
  7. The date of the last instalment transferred to the beneficiary account, the details of the last instalment, And the bank account credited to will be displayed on the screen.
