A policy is always sent to the email ID that you furnished at the time of purchase. The insurer does not provide hard copies of the policy documentation even if you place a request for it.

Is it possible to cancel a two-wheeler insurance policy online?

Yes, policies that were originally bought online can be cancelled online. You will be required to send a cancellation request through email to online.policy@uiic.co.in. You will also have to provide policy details in the email. Refund for the policy will be made as per the company rules.

What is cashless claim facility?

The United India two-wheeler insurance policy coverage includes cashless claim facility. In the event of an accident, the policyholder can choose to get the bike repaired at any of the network garages affiliated to the insurance company. The cashless claim facility is particularly useful as the policyholder is not required to pay for the repair work up front. The insurer will settle the bills directly with the garage. The policyholder will only need to pay a minimal amount corresponding to deductibles.Additionally, network garages also offer optimised services to customers. How to Download United India Bike Insurance Policy Document Using Policy Number?

Step 1 - You have to visit the website of United India Insurance.

Step 2 - Choose 'customer services' and a new menu will appear. Here, click on 'Verify your policy' and select 'Check Payment Status/ Online Policy Download'.

Step 3 -Key in your policy number, transaction ID, or the previous policy number and choose 'Search'.

Step 4 - You will see the details of your bike insurance and the options for downloading the document. Choose from Policy Document without T&C', 'Policy document with T&C', 'Two Page Schedule' and 'Receipt'.

Step 5 - Click on 'Start Download'.

Do You Need a Hard Copy of Your Policy?

The Indian Motor Tariff says that every bike owner in the country has to have at least a third party bike insurance. Now, you do not have to carry a hard copy of the insurance. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has launched the e-Vahan Bima application. This allows for a QR code scanning system.

Requesting a Hard Copy of Your Policy Document

Depreciation in the value of the vehicle due to normal wear and tear
Mechanical or electrical breakdown of the vehicle
Damage caused to the vehicle due to a person driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Damage caused to the vehicle by a rider not holding a valid driving license
Claims made outside the geographical area covered under the policy
Claims made for vehicles used against their limitations of use under the policy

Discounts Available on Purchasing United India Two-Wheeler Insurance Policy

A No Claim Bonus can be availed in the range of 20% to 50% if the policyholder has not made any claim on their motor insurance policy in the preceding years. The percentage of NCB is subject to the number of claim-free years.
5% discount on own damage premium (up to Rs.50 for two-wheelers) for members of Automobile Association.
A discount of 2.5% can be availed on the Own Damage (OD) premium by installing an ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) approved anti-theft device on the vehicle.
A discount of 50% can be availed on OD premium for vehicles designed for use of physically or mentally challenged individuals.
A discount of 331/1% on the tariff rates applicable if the member uses their vehicle within the insured's premises or sites.

Additional Coverage Available

The coverage offered under United India two-wheeler insurance policy can be extended by payment of additional premium. The coverage can be enhanced by opting the following covers:

Extension Of Geographic Area Covered Under The Policy: The coverage of the policy can be extended to countries including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Maldives by paying a certain amount of premium in addition to the base premium.
Personal Accident Cover: Personal accident cover can be opted for named or unknown individuals travelling with the rider.
Electrical / Electronic Fittings: Electrical and electronic fittings that do not come default with the manufactured vehicle can be covered by paying an additional premium of 4% on the cost of such installations.

What are the discounts offered by United India Insurance on two-wheeler packages?
1. No-Claim Bonus - NCB ranges from 20% to 50%, based on the number of claim-free years.
2. Automobile Association of India (AAI) membership - Discount of 5% on the own-damage premium, subject to a maximum of Rs.50 for motorised two-wheelers.
3. Installation of anti-theft devices - A discount of 2.5% on the own-damage component of premium.
4. 50% discount on the own-damage premium if the vehicle is used by a handicapped, blind, or mentally-challenged individual.
Do I have to bear additional premiums for installing CNG/LPG bi-fuel kit in my vehicle?
Two-wheelers fitted with CNG/LPG bi-fuel kits will have to be declared separately and premium will be charged depending on the model of the car.
My policy is due for renewal. How soon can I renew it?
The insurer allows you to renew your two-wheeler insurance policy only 30 days before the expiry date. You have time till the due date to pay the premium.
Can I renew my expired policy through the online channel?
United India Insurance does not allow you to renew expired policies online. You will have to approach an insurance agent or visit the office of the insurer for the same. A list of the branch offices of the insurance company can be found at the official United India Insurance website.
What premium payment channels are authorised by the insurer?
You can pay premiums through any of the following channels:

I have made a duplicate payment and the amount was deducted from my account twice. How do I get a refund?
1. You should always note down the following information at the time of making a premium payment:
  1. Transaction ID
  2. Transaction date
  3. Amount paid
  4. Name of the insured/payee

3. The insurer will initiate a refund which will be processed within 5 business days.
I would like to get a hard-copy of my policy documentation. How do I request for it?
A policy is always sent to the email ID that you furnished at the time of purchase. The insurer does not provide hard copies of the policy documentation even if you place a request for it.
Is it possible to cancel a two-wheeler insurance policy online?
Yes, policies that were originally bought online can be cancelled online. You will be required to send a cancellation request through email to online.policy@uiic.co.in. You will also have to provide policy details in the email. Refund for the policy will be made as per the company rules.
What is cashless claim facility?
The United India two-wheeler insurance policy coverage includes cashless claim facility. In the event of an accident, the policyholder can choose to get the bike repaired at any of the network garages affiliated to the insurance company. The cashless claim facility is particularly useful as the policyholder is not required to pay for the repair work up front. The insurer will settle the bills directly with the garage. The policyholder will only need to pay a minimal amount corresponding to deductibles.
Additionally, network garages also offer optimised services to customers. You can be assured of quality work and competitive pricing for repairs done at network garages.
