IRCTC users now have the benefit of booking 12 e-tickets a month on IRCTC website by linking their Aadhaar number with their IRCTC account.
For a use to avail this benefit, users should verify their Aadhaar number of a minimum of 1 passenger. However, for users wanting to book only 6 e-tickets, linking and verification of Aadhaar process in not necessary.
Linking Aadhaar with IRCTC can be done online. The linking process should be completed before booking the tickets.
The process is simple and it involves a few steps as mentioned below:
Step 1: Visit the official e-ticketing website of IRCTC which is www.irctc.co.in.
Step 2: Enter the 'User ID' and 'Password'
Step 3: Go to 'my profile tab' and click on 'Aadhaar KYC'
Step 4: Add your Aadhaar Number and choose the 'Send OTP' option. You will receive an OTP on your registered phone number.
Step 5: Enter the OTP and click 'Verify’ option.
Step 6: Once verified, KYC details will be on the screen.
Step 7: Choose the 'Submit' option to initiate the process of KYC verification, post which the Aadhaar will be verified.
Follow the steps mentioned below to add a passenger with Aadhaar number
Step 1: Visit the official e-ticketing website of IRCTC which is www.irctc.co.in
Step 2: Enter the 'User ID' and 'password'.
Step 3: Place the cursor on the 'Profile Section' and click on 'Master List'
Step 4: Enter the new passenger’s relevant details such as Aadhaar number, gender, date of birth as it is printed on the Aadhaar Card.
Step 5: Proceed to choose the 'Submit' option.
Once this process is complete all new passengers that have been added will reflect in the 'Master List' with a 'Pending' status. Once the verification is done, the status will automatically reflect as 'Verified'. It is important to note here that for this purpose, no OTP verification will be necessary. Another point to keep in mind here is that passengers who are in the master list can also be Aadhaar-verified by using the 'Edit' option.

Step 1: Enter the details of your trains and search for it.
Step 2: Click on the booking option after selection the train class.

Step 5: Your information will be directly entered to the booking window, and you may move on to the payment method to reserve the ticket.
