In case you have lost or misplaced your Aadhaar Unique Identification Number or Enrollment ID , you may be able to retrieve it by following the steps below.
On the UIDAI website, existing Aadhaar cardholders and applicants who have recently enrolled for it, can submit their request for lost Aadhaar UID/EID retrieval.
Step 1 - Log on to the official website of UIDAI where the Aadhaar-issuing authority has made available various online services for the public.
Step 2 - Then, click on the 'Retrieve Lost UID/EID' option, which will redirect you to a new page.
Step 3 - Choose any one of these two options -a) Retrieve Aadhaar Number (UID) or b) Retrieve Aadhaar Enrolment Number (EID).
Step 4 - Fill in name, email id or mobile number as mentioned in the Aadhaar enrolment form and the Aadhaar card. Enter the Captcha for verification.
Step 5 - Click on the 'Send OTP' button. After receiving the OTP, enter the same for verification.
Step 6 - Post verification, the Aadhaar number or Enrollment ID will be sent to your registered email ID or mobile number.
Those who have not registered their mobile number/email ID with their Aadhaar card, will have to pay a visit to the nearest Permanent Enrollment centre for retrieval of EID or UID number.
The following are the steps to retrieve lost or forgotten Aadhaar UID/ EID through mAadhaar App:
Step 1 - Login to the mAadhaar app using your credentials.
Step 2 - Click on the ‘Retrieve EID/ UID’.
Step 3 - Choose if you want to retrieve your Aadhaar Number or Enrolment Number.
Step 4 - You will get a One Time Password (OTP) that you have received at your registered mobile number. Enter OTP to get the Aadhaar Number or Enrolment ID after the verification.
Step 5 - If you do not have a registered mobile number or email ID with Aadhaar, you need to visit your nearest Permanent Enrolment Centre for retrieval of EID/ EID.
The following are the steps to retrieve the lost or forgotten Aadhaar UID/ EID offline:
You do not have to submit any documents to retrieve your lost EID/ UID.
You have to pay a nominal fee of Rs.30 to retrieve lost UID/ EID offline.
You need to visit Aadhar Seva Kendra to get forgotten Aadhar UID or EID offline.
You can use the UIDAI self-service postal at free of cost.
