NSC Transfer Online

You can get the full amount from your NSC after it matures-5 years for NSC VIII and 10 years for NSC IX. To receive the money, the investor must submit the required forms to the post office where the NSC is registered.

NSC accounts can also be transferred from one post office to another as long as they have not reached maturity. This is helpful if someone moves to a new place, as going back to the old post office may be difficult and take time.

In such cases, it is better to transfer the NSC account to a nearby post office near the investor’s new address.

NSC Transfer Rules

An NSC certificate can be transferred from one post office to another after the account holder submits the required documents in the correct format.

The postmaster can allow the transfer in the following situations:

  1. From the account holder to a court
  2. From a deceased holder to their heir
  3. From joint holders to one of the joint holders
  4. From a single holder to joint holders

NSC Transfer process

If an NSC account holder wants to transfer the account to another post office, they must follow these steps:

  1. Form NC-32: The investor must fill out Form NC-32 to transfer the NSC from one post office to another. The form can be downloaded from this link: http://www.indiapost.gov.in/pdfforms/nc-32applnfortransferofpocertificates.pdf
  2. Details: The investor must enter all the required details, such as the date of issue, identity slip, denomination, and details of the issuing office, etc. If there is a duplicate issue, those details must also be included.
  3. Signature: The form must be signed by the certificate/account holder. If the NSC is in the name of a minor, the guardian must sign it.
  4. Verification: The postmaster at the original post office will check and verify all the information. After verification, the form will be sent to the new post office where the investor wants to transfer the account.

The investor should follow this process carefully to transfer the NSC account smoothly to the desired post office. It's important to include and sign nominee details (as mentioned in the original application) in Form NC-32 as well.
