Documents Required for Turkey e-Visa

To apply for a Turkish e-Visa, people need to have a valid passport from their home country. This passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Apart from this, other documents may be asked depending on the country the traveler belongs to. Indians should have a return ticket, hotel reservation and sufficient funds. They must also have a valid supporting document, which can be either a visa or residence permit from UK, USA, any 1 of the Schengen country or Ireland.

How to Apply?

To apply for a Turkish e-Visa, people have to first open the e-Visa portal of Turkish government. After opening the website, they have to do the following:

  1. Click on new application.
  2. Select their country/region from the drop down menu.
  3. Select the travel document from the drop down menu.
  4. Write the security code.
  5. Click on 'Save and Continue'.
  6. Select the date of arrival and click on 'Save and Continue'.
  7. Click on the box that is present against every option on the list to meet criteria. Travelers must ensure that they have all the required documents. Click on 'Save and Continue'.
  8. Enter personal details such as name, surname, date of birth, place of birth, name of parents, passport number, passport issue and expiry dates, email address, address and phone number. Apart from this, the applicant has to also select the type of supporting document and the name of the country issuing the supporting document from the drop down menus. They also have to write the expiry date of the supporting document. If the supporting document is not going to expire, then they have to click on the box present against 'Unlimited'.
  9. Click on 'Save and Continue'

Once the applicant fills in all the details, he/she has to make the payment to submit the application.

  • What do I do in case of a change in travel dates?

    In case of a change in travel dates, you have to apply for a new eVisa.  

  • What is an eVisa?

    An eVisa is an official document that allows enter to a country and permission to travel within that country. It is an alternative to regular visas that are issued by the Embassy of different nations and visa-on-arrival. eVisa can be obtained online after submitting required details and making payments. While applying for a Turkish eVisa, the payment can be made online using a debit/credit card or Union Pay.eVisa is sent to applicants by email. At the port of entry, they might have to show a soft copy or hard copy of their eVisa.  

  • Is it mandatory to enter Turkey on the date I have mentioned in my visa application?

    No, it is not mandatory to enter Turkey on the date you have mentioned in your visa application. Your visa validity period will start from the date mentioned in your application and you can enter the country anytime during your eVisa validity period.

  • How do I know that my information is safe?

    Any information that you provide during your visa application is safe as the Government of Turkey do not sell this information to any third party or use it for commercial purposes. Every stage of the visa application process is secured by high-end security systems. The barcode on eVisa is encrypted and electronically signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey. The applicant is responsible for soft and hard copy of eVisa.  

  • I have not used my eVisa. Will I get a refund?

    No, if you have not used your eVisa, you will not get a refund.
