How to Check Australian Visa Status Online

Step 2: Click on the button named "Check your own Visa details with VEVO." Upon clicking this, the enquiry screen opens up.

Step 3: Enter the TRN (Transaction Reference Number)/Visa Evidence Number/Visa Grant Number/Password in the field called "Reference Type." These details must have been provided at the time of application processing and acknowledgment.

1. The TRN is given when an applicant applies for his/her Australian Visa online. If the application is lodged via Immi Account, then the TRN is mentioned right there.
2. Visa Evidence Number is mentioned on the visa label (if the applicant has one). But since the Australian government provides electronic visas or e-Visas, this label isn't necessary.
3. On the other hand, a Visa Grant Number is mentioned when the applicant receives a notification about receiving his/her visa successfully.
4. A password is received from the government itself but can be acquired only if the applicant is in Australia and contacts the "General Enquiry Line."

Step 4: Next, enter the date of birth, country of the passport, Immi card/passport number in the given fields.

Step 5: Ensure to read all the terms, conditions, and government policies carefully before agreeing on them. Once this is done, click on the checkbox to accept them.

Step 6: Click on ‘Submit’ to check the status of your visa. 

Check Australia Visa Status via ImmiAccount

Step 1: Visit the official website of ImmiAccount. 

Step 2: Click on ‘Create your ImmiAccount’. If you already have an account, then you can click on ‘Access your ImmiAccount’ 

Step 3: Log in to your account by filling in username and password. 

Step 4: Under the ‘My Applications tab, click on the application. 

Step 5: Your visa application status will be displayed on the screen. 

Steps to Check Australia Visa Status with Passport Number 

You can follow the steps given below to check the status via passport number: 

• Visit the official website of Australian Embassy 
• Click on the option ‘Check your own visa details’
•  On document type, select the option ‘Passport’
• Fill in the required details and passport number under ‘Document Number’ 
• Click on the submit button to check your visa status.

Problems with Checking Australian Visa Status Online 

Many applicants face common issues while checking their visa status through VEVO or ImmiAccount. These are as follows:  

1. An individual might forget the visa reference number (e.g., TRN or grant number). In such a case, one can contact the Global Service Centre.
