While the regular KYC forms are used for the purpose of obtaining a new gas connection, there is also a KYC form needed to participate in specific government schemes. One such example is the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. This is a scheme that aims at helping households that are below the poverty line gain access to clean cooking gas. The KYC form that is used for this scheme is slightly different even though it collects similar information about the applicant. In the case of this form, the form will ask for details of the members of the family, where it will consider a unit where members over the age of 18 years stay and use the same kitchen. This form will also collect information of the cylinder that the applicants want and if they want a stove to go with the cylinder or not. The documents and procedures still remain the same.
You can get KYC forms either from the distributors for a particular gas company or from their website.
No, you can either mention your father or a spouse. You don't have to mention both.
No. Since KYC is mandatory, it is a formality that has to be fulfilled in order to get a gas connection.
No. If you use the same documents for a new connection while an old one is active, the chances are that the application will be rejected since one household cannot have more than one active connection.
While this might be a rare occurrence, it is best to ensure that the documents you submit bear the same names, photos and addresses as mentioned on the KYC form. If the details don't match, the agency might not approve the application.
Yes you can apply for the KYC again, provided you ensure that the correct details and supporting documents are being submitted.
No, this would not be advisable. There could be possibilities where KYC forms, though similar, may bear the markings or serial numbers of the companies that issued them. It is best to get the KYC forms from the company you want the gas connection from.
It is mandatory only for those who already have a consumer number issued to them. If it is the first time you plan on getting a connection then you don't have to quote it.
