The Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) is the electricity regulation board of the Assam. The APDCL is a Public Sector Undertaking and it manages the transmission, distribution and generation, of electricity in Assam with Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Ltd, Assam Power Distribution Company Limited and Assam Power Generation Co. Ltd.
The Assam State Electricity Board had been established in the year, 1958 under the Electricity Act 1948.

Step 5: Go to "payment history".
Step 6: Now, you will see the payment receipts you have paid online.
Step 7: Click on the required receipt and select download.
To calculate the APDCL bill based on used units follow the steps mentioned below -
Step 1: To calculate the power consumption for the current month, subtract the current meter reading from the value from the prior month.
Step 2: When you are aware of the exact amount of energy utilized, you may calculate the energy charge by multiplying the units by the per-unit charges based on the slab rates.
Step 3: The entire energy bill can be calculated by adding the fixed charge and the total.

The APDCL-Non-RAPDR has acquired Assam State Electricity Board of Assam in the year, 2009. It has been owned by the Government of Assam.

Chief Minister of Assam, Hemanta Biswa Sarma, announced a reduction of Rs.1 per unit in electricity charges from 1 April 2025, lowering the rate from Rs.5.90 to Rs.4.90 per unit. The government took the decision in response to public concerns about rising electricity bills and the introduction of smart meters. Moreover, consumers will receive a rebate at the end of the year, which offers further savings on electricity bills. Commercial users will also see a reduction of Rs.0.25 in their electricity costs. The rate changes will be managed by the Assam Power Distribution Company (APDCL) in collaboration with the Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission (AERC).
