Mobile Money Identifier (MMID)

What is MMID?

The Mobile Money Identifier (MMID) is a unique seven-digit code issued by the bank to the account holders and the number is often a combination of your mobile phone number and bank account number. MMID was introduced in India in 2010 as a replacement of Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) and National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT). It eliminates the need to add and verify beneficiaries through the bank, thereby simplifying Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) fund transfers. Each customer is assigned with a distinct MMID that links their bank accounts and registered mobile numbers.
