The Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme provides medical insurance benefits to individuals belonging to economically-weaker sections of society in Tamil Nadu. Enrolled members are provided a cover of Rs.1 lakh p.a. for 4 years.

Underprivileged families who live in Tamil Nadu are provided health insurance under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS). In the case of any medical emergencies, cashless treatment is provided at a network hospital.

Follow-up treatments, diagnostic procedures, and hospitalisation expenses are covered under the scheme. Eligible individuals will be provided an e-card once the enrolment process has been completed.

How to Enroll under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme?

The procedure that must be followed to opt for the scheme is mentioned below:

  1. Request for an income certificate from the Revenue authorities.
  2. Visit the enrolment centre with the relevant documents.
  3. Complete the verification process.
  4. Complete the fingerprint scan and eye scan. A photograph will be taken as well.
  5. Once the verification has been completed, the e-card will be given.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria that must be met to opt for the scheme are mentioned below

  1. Only Tamil Nadu resident families can apply for the scheme.
  2. The income of the family must be below Rs.72,000 per year.
  3. The member’s name must be present in the ration card.
  1. Sri Lankan refugees who have citizenship proof can apply for the scheme.
  2. Recused girl children/ orphans from unregistered or registered organisations.

Process to Download CMCHIS Enrolment Form

The process that must be followed to download the enrolment form is mentioned below

  2. Under the ‘Enrolment’ tab, you will find ‘Enrolment Form’
  3. On the next page, you will find the option to download the form

The procedure that must be followed to link the Aadhaar and URN is mentioned below

  1. Visit https://www.cmchistn.com/index.php
  2. Click on ‘Link Aadhaar to URN’.
  3. Enter the URN.
  4. Select the relevant option next and click on ‘Enrol Now’.

  2. Next, the mobile number must be entered.
  3. Next, the Aadhaar number must be entered.
  4. Select ‘Submit’.
  5. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.
