Apollo Munich Health Insurance Renewal:

To renew your health insurance policy, log into the Apollo Munich Health Insurance website with your email or member ID and password. You can also login using your policy number. The policy schedule contains a unique policy number which changes every year on renewal. Renewal payment can be made 60 days prior to the policy expiry date. Renewal premium is calculated based on the age of the insured at the time of renewal. You will be given a 30-day grace period within which to renew your policy. How to File a Claim With Apollo Munich?

Apollo Munich has one of the fastest claim settlement records. About 98% of the claims have been settled within 15 days. As of April 2016, the insurer has settled claims valued at Rs.2,063 crores. When registering your claims with the insurance company's dedicated claims team, provide details such as phone number, address, name of the insured, policy number, network hospital, nature of ailment, and date of hospitalisation. Claims can be registered at the insurer's customer service centre via phone, email or in person. Intimate the insurer within 7 days of hospitalisation and submit the claim form with necessary medical documents within 15 days of discharge from the hospital.

1. Cashless ClaimVisit a network hospital of the insurer to avail cashless treatment. Intimate the insurer within 24 hours of unplanned hospitalisation and 48 hours prior to your planned hospitalisation.

  2. The hospital will verify your identity details and submit a duly-filled and signed pre-authorisation request form to the insurer. 
  3. After verification of the pre-authorisation request, the insurer will send an approval letter to the network hospital. 
  4. The hospital will proceed with the cashless treatment for the insured member. The insurer will settle the bill directly with the hospital. The insured has to pay those bills that are not covered under the policy.
  5. If the cashless claim is denied, the insured member can get treated and file for a reimbursement claim after discharge.

2. Reimbursement ClaimSubmit the claim form along with the medical documents within 15 days of your discharge from the hospital. Upon successful verification and approval, the claim amount will be sent to the proposer in the form of a cheque within 30 days of receipt of the documents.

  • What do you mean by pre and post-hospitalization?

    Pre-hospitalisation is where the policy covers medical expenses incurred due to an illness for a certain period of time prior to the actual hospitalisation. Most policies also cover post-hospitalisation expenses, wherein the individual’s hospitalisation expenses are covered for a certain period of time post discharge from the hospital.

  • How can I add my family members to my existing policy?

    Download the Change Request form from the Apollo Munich Health Insurance website, fill it, and submit it at the nearest branch office along with the revised premium. Mid-term policy addition is allowed only for a newborn baby or newly-wed spouse. Other additions can be done only at the time of renewal.

    In a policy year, the restore benefit can be triggered only once. Restore benefit can be triggered once a year till the end of the policy term.

  • How can I claim my OPD expenses?

    Submit the original medical bills along with the prescriptions once at the end of the year to the insurer for reimbursement claims for OPD expenses.

  • Can I opt for multiple sum insured for my family members covered in the plan?

    If you opt to cover your family members under an individual policy, all members of the family will be provided a separate sum insured amount. On the other hand, if you choose to purchase a plan on a family floater basis, all family members will be provided a single sum insured, which can be used to varying extents by each family member.

  • Will vaccination be covered under OPD benefit?

    In the case of a claim, the sum insured will be reduced by 50% but not below the basic sum insured.
